Hazel Grove Sixth Form, which is part of the Laurus Trust, celebrate their students’ achievements as they sit their first ever external assessment.

Students have been offered places at a wide range of universities and apprenticeship providers, with 84% of students achieving grades A*-C.

This year’s grades are even more impressive when you consider that this year group were not able to sit GCSEs in 2020, due to the pandemic.

This year’s excellent A Level results at Hazel Grove Sixth Form are thanks to the hard work of our students, parents & carers and staff with an overall pass rate of 98% with 64% of students achieving A*- B grades, and 26% achieving A*- A.

Some individual successes include Lily, who is going to study Veterinary Studies at Nottingham University after achieving four A*. Aaron is looking forward to studying Dentistry after achieving A* and three A grades. Lucy will be going to University of York studying Maths and Physics after achieving A*AB.

Ben Vickers, Director of Sixth Form, said: “It’s a tremendous achievement and we are very proud of all our students.”

Martin Stewart, Headteacher at Hazel Grove High School, said: “We want to congratulate all of our students and wish them well as they take up their places at universities, undertake apprenticeships or begin employment.

We are already looking forward to our Sixth Form Open Evening in November where we will be able to share more details of the redeveloped Sixth form centre.”
