On Monday 31st October 2023, the Beliefs and Values department hosted the annual Hazel Grove High School Mock Election.
Year 10 spent the morning learning all about the government, democracy and current affairs.
They met representatives from the Labour Party, the Conservative Party, the Green Party and the Liberal Democrats.
Students asked visitors challenging questions about important issues affecting the local community and the nation.
After spending time hearing from each of the parties, students cast their votes in our Hazel Grove Polling station.
This year’s winners were the Liberal Democrats, congratulations!
Liberal Democrat, Lisa Smart, said:
“It’s always great to hear directly from people about the issues that are most important to them. The students certainly weren’t afraid to ask difficult questions about difficult issues.”
Thank you to all of our visitors for coming along and taking part.
