We were delighted to welcome Manchester’s University Academy 92 to school recently. This is a new university, inspired by the experience and connections of Manchester United’s famous Class of 1992, with a focus on degrees relating to careers in media, business, sport and computer science.
Class of 92 footballers Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes are all closely involved with the university.
Andrew Smith from University Academy 92 (pictured) talked to Year 11 students about raising aspirations and attending university before meeting Year 12 students to discuss university life.
He explained: “We offer degrees designed to accelerate careers in the worlds of media, business, sport and computer science, thanks to a curriculum inspired by the experience and connections of the Class of 92, and backed by respected academic pioneers Lancaster University.”
