You may have seen seen some superheroes, mascots and even a princess or two brightening the days of Hazel Grove children stuck at home during the current lockdown. But did you know that one of the team donning the fun outfits on their daily exercise sessions is Hazel Grove High School’s own Staci Langley?
Learning Support Assistant Staci, who is also a singer and children’s entertainer, dresses as Elsa from the hit movie Frozen to entertain youngsters alongside martial arts instructors Andrew Baldock and Jason Baird, who are the Stockport Spider-Men who set up the initiative.
Staci also takes to the streets as Supergirl or Disney’s Belle. There are around 35 members of the group covering different parts of Stockport, giving children something fun to look at from the safety of their own homes.
She says: “I joined in to cover Hazel Grove a few weeks ago in my exercise time and now there are quite a few of us in different areas around Stockport. We’re just trying to bring some smiles and raise some money for NHS Charities.
“The whole team is hopefully providing children with an alternative, happier memory when they look back at this time. Instead of remembering that they couldn’t see their friends and families, they will remember that a superhero or princess was on their street.”
The team has made news around the world and has raised nearly £30,000 so far for NHS charities. If you would like to donate you can visit their JustGiving page here: justgiving.com/fundraising/stockport-spiderman
