We are delighted to share that a former Hazel Grove High School student has been offered a scholarship to study Economics and Management at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
Betty Hall, who left us in 2020 after completing her GCSEs, has been an avid footballer since a young age. She currently plays for Manchester City Girls, FC United of Manchester Women’s Team, and Bolton Futsal Club. Before deciding to accept a scholarship at Flagler College, Betty received offers from Division 1 and 2 teams across the United States.
After leaving HGHS, Betty went on to study her A-levels and met other young athletes who inspired her to consider studying abroad. One of her former teachers said: “The fact that Betty has balanced school and sport since Year 8 is a real testament.”
Betty is excited about what the future may hold, she has said: “I am still exploring the different football careers I could pursue, but in the meantime I’m hoping to win lots of matches before I return to the UK.”
We want to congratulate Betty on her fantastic achievements and wish her the best of luck for her move to Florida this summer!
